Osama Wahba — Founder & President, Cambridge Egypt

Osama Wahba is a visionary entrepreneur and policy strategist with a distinguished record of transforming traditional, underserved industries into modern, scalable ventures that create jobs, empower communities, and export innovation globally. As the Founder and President of Cambridge Egypt, at the request of His Excellency President of Egypt, Abd Al Fattah Al Sisi, he brings a rare fusion of academic excellence, entrepreneurial leadership, and a deep-rooted commitment to public service.

A Fulbright and Chevening scholar, Osama holds degrees from two of the world’s top institutions—from the University of Cambridge with Honors, and graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina (USC), where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. His academic journey has been marked by intellectual rigor, international recognition, and a consistent focus on public policy and economic reform.

Osama's public sector contributions in Egypt span more than a decade. He played leading roles in high-impact policy initiatives, including national economic development strategies, trade and industry reform, and youth employment programs. He was a key player in shaping Egypt’s Vision 2030 agenda. His work through think tanks such as the T20 and through government-led initiatives has helped inform strategic planning and institutional reform across key sectors.

As an entrepreneur, Osama is the founder of multiple nationally recognized brands—Mr. Tailor, Mr. Cobbler, and Mr. Sofa—which have collectively scaled to dozens of branches and employ hundreds of people. These ventures are credited with pioneering the professionalization of clothing alterations, shoe repair, and furniture restoration in Egypt and beyond. By integrating technology, brand-building, and operational excellence into legacy industries, Osama has redefined what is possible in sectors long considered low-growth or informal. His models are now being exported internationally through Disrupt Ventures, his U.S.-based holding company.

Through Cambridge Egypt, Osama continues to bridge global expertise with local reform. The initiative aims to channel Cambridge University's global academic and research assets into meaningful public-private partnerships across Egypt. Under his leadership, Cambridge Egypt has supported knowledge transfer, policy innovation, and institution building, reinforcing Egypt’s long-term development goals while fostering next-generation leadership.

Osama Wahba’s career reflects a core belief: that the true engine of national progress lies at the intersection of knowledge, enterprise, and public purpose. His work continues to influence both policy and practice in Egypt and the wider region.
